    Randia spinosa (Thunb) Poir. Stems and roots: Tubers oblong, Palmate, deep orange inside. Leaves: Long stalked, lanceolate, tapering to each end, smooth, of a uniform green. Flowers: Spike central , oblong, green.A deciduous, thorny shrub or small tree, upto 9 m in height. Bark dark brown or grey, rough, scaly. Leaves obovate. Flowers first white, later turning to yellow, fragrant. Berry yellow when ripe, 3-3.7 cm long, globose or broadly ovoid, smooth or obscurely longitudinally ribbed. Seeds many, flat, about 4 mm Iong angular'
