Isoproterenol
Overview
Isoproterenol is used to prevent and treat wheezing,shortness of breath,chronic bronchitis and other lung diseases.
Isoproterenol (HCl) is a beta receptor agonist used in asthma by inhalation or orally. It may also be used as intravenous infusion in treatment of shock. More likely to cause cardiac arrhythmias than dopamine or dobutamine.
Isoproterenol (Sulphate) is a sympathomimetic, stimulates beta-adrenoceptors. It has a powerful stimulating action on the heart and increases cardiac output, excitability, and rate. It also stimulates CNS and exhibits bronchodilating properties.
