Bambusa arundinacea Retz. is a tree and thorny in texture, 80-100 ft long, irregularly shaped, size is usually 6-7 inches in diameter. It blooms gregariously, once in about 30 years. Tall, with a thick central root stalk, bearing bright green shining culms.
