Herb's Description
Crocus sativus Linn.. A bulbous perennial herb. Leaves are linear appear with or after the flower. Flowers have trifid, orange-coloured stigmas which along with style-tops yield the saffron of commerce. The stigmas are bright orange and each stigma is about 25 mm in length, has the shape of long tube, narrow at the base but broadening towards the upper extremity. Pollen grains are often found on the stigma. The crown is covered with membranous tunica
