Magnesium Carbonate. Obtained from natural deposits (MgCO2) which is calcined at high temperature to drive off moisture and carbon dioxide before being used as refractory. But for medicinal purposes it is hydrated (thus identified as hydrated basic magnesium carbonate). Being very light powder, insoluble in water and alcohol
