Polygonum bistorta Linn.. A perennial herb, up to 60 cm high, with a thick, twisted rootstock, root-leaves long-stalked, linear or linear-oblong sharp-pointed. Stem-leaves stalkless. Stem-leaves ovate-lanceolate, cauline smaller and narrower. Flowers white or pink almost erect in spikes Nut 3-angular.
