Acipenser huso Linn. The bladder occur in front of the abdomen of several species of fishes (sturgeons) prepared and cut into fine shreds called isinglass. It is white and very light material insoluble in cold water but soluble in boiling water and forms good transparent jelly. Also obtained from skin, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage of bones by boiling these tissues and drying the resulting jelly in air
